May 2020 Newsletter

By 6th May 2020News

To all our clients who we are missing at this difficult time!

An update from us to you

THE SALON IS CLOSED BUT THERE IS LOTS HAPPENING!

We have been having some work done in the middle salon over the last 10 days. We have pulled all the tiles up to re-enforce the floor as it was moving so while we did that we have installed a new underfloor heating system. In early 2021 we had planned to close the salon to fit new plumbing and boiler attachments but we are also doing this work since we are currently closed.

Fortunately for me (and the salon) my family members are all in the trade and live under one roof which has made all this work possible (no peace for the men in my house)!

My list is growing while I have them there. Decisions, decisions about the new floor…..

TEAM NEWS

Sarah has been busy home-schooling, decorating, dog walking and enjoying a bit of time off. Jamie is busy baking.

Jade has finally moved into her first home; we are so happy for her. Things are just perfect and she is loving her new chapter. She is keeping fit by dog walking and running but of course ready to return when we open again.

Jacquie has loved her time with Robyn but can’t stop her fantastic work. She has kept us all updated with her amazing nail art. She can’t wait to share her new ideas when she is back. Rebecca has shared some of them online. The nail art has been enhanced by the Gel Bottle course she went on recently.

Bex is busy home-schooling all three children as well as baking. She is enjoying the sun. Mila has celebrated her birthday and cut her own hair much to the annoyance of Bex (maybe a new recruit for us one day).

Adam has gone to live with his sister for company. He is enjoying his music, talking to friends, walks and catching up on films.

Eleanor has enjoyed her time with Louie and he’s now on the move so plenty of walks in the sunshine. She is ready to return to see her clients!

Ailsa has also been baking (her bread looked delicious), dog walking and helping out Simon while catching up with jobs at home.

Fiona is home-schooling her three children. Emi is keen to send us songs she has learnt with her new ukulele. The weather has helped keep them busy.

Rachel was a little poorly but has bounced back to her chirpy self. Keeping busy by making things with Freddie and entertaining us all with her upbeat funny messages.

Ellie has been even more laid back than normal, face masking, sunbathing and going on dog walks. She has also been sending us some very funny messages to keep spirits high – especially her Tik Toks.

Danna has moved to her boyfriend’s house and has been busy doing online learning. She has also enjoyed walks and keeping in touch with us all. She is eager to return back to continue building her client base.

Taylor has been practising dressing long hair with her hair block and enjoying catching up with her sisters.

Sara has an immaculate house and has now started with the garden. She celebrated her birthday. She is missing being busy at the salon but keeps in touch with our brides as they are rescheduling and need support from us at this stressful time.

Vikki is busy home-schooling and walking. She also has to keep the makeup away from Imi as she can’t resist a pretty face. At only three years old Jacquie may have a new assistant.

Alex has her little puppy for company and is keeping busy dog walking and keeping in touch.

Rebecca has been adding new products to our online shop and working on enhancing our forms of communication while looking after a poorly dog and guinea pigs! Her son has bought a football net for the back garden and her daughter is keeping up to date with all her dancing.

Finally, I am still watching online training and sharing links with the staff should they wish to watch them. I hold a Zoom meeting once a week to stay in touch and say hi to the team and let them know my plans for the salon’s renovations. I am also busy home-schooling, dog walking and spending lots of time with Jess which is something she’s never had before.

LOOKING AHEAD

Our plans to see you all will be by offering Monday to Sunday appointments. We plan to add some late night appointments. As we all move forward post lockdown the salon may have to work via shifts which could mean stylists working different shift patterns. We will have to allow extra time for appointments due to cleaning and sterilising as well as the additional time to ensure we adhere to social distancing guidance. At time of writing, we are unsure what protective clothing will be required for staff and clients to be in line with the government guidelines but we will be in touch through text, email and social media when we know more.

If any clients need anything or have any queries we are more than happy to help answer your questions so please get in touch!

Our online shop is being updated weekly. If a product you would like to buy is not showing please get in touch as we can take orders via email. We dispatch most orders daily. Please email your order enquiries to us. Click here to send an email.

Online Booking – we are encouraging clients to download the app or book future appointments ahead if possible. This is tricky as we still have no date to re-open but we have seen some eager clients already booking for late summer and going into autumn/winter. Please be assured we will accommodate as many appointments as we can.

You may not be aware but we sell gift vouchers on our website. If you would like to support the salon and buy a voucher to use on your next visit to us after lockdown please use the link below or click here.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR HAIR

We appreciate that there are still lots of you who are keen to find out what options you have available to maintain your hair currently.

Home colour is available in many shops but we are sorry to say we don’t advise colouring at home. Please remember many of you have spent money investing in getting your hair to look as you like it and home colour puts this at risk. Anyone wanting to go lighter we have to ask PLEASE DON’T! You may end up snapping your hair off. Let us sort it out for you when we can.

Although we know it is hard we continue to advise using this time to let your hair improve in condition. By not using a hairdryer, straighteners or curling irons during this time you may find your hair improves. Why not use this downtime to apply a weekly hair treatment?

If you have grey roots why not buy a spray to cover them? These are harmless and wash out. Remember we sell Root Fusions in our online shop! In fact, we have received orders for these from all over the country!

If you must trim your hair we advise just a little from a fringe or the sides or back.

Finally, thank you for your continued support for our staff and salon. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
